VAKE – Church Resource Centre is a church service for anyone over the age of 18 who has been the victim of sexual abuse, assault or violence. The centre also offers services to those close to you. The staff at the resource centre possess specialist expertise concerning abuse in Christian contexts, but the centre is open to everyone.
VAKE offers discussions over the phone, individual discussions, groups and church services, and has a nationwide network. The staff speak Norwegian. Help is also available in English and an interpreter can be provided if necessary.
The centre offers teaching, provides advice concerning the handling of cases of abuse and assault, and works to better prepare religious communities to meet and accommodate people who have experienced sexual abuse. Extensive preventive work is also carried out both within and together with churches and Christian faiths.
What is ADAM?
ADAM is VAKE’s contact and support service for men over the age of 18 who have been victims of sexual abuse in their childhood, adolescence adulthood. ADAM has particular expertise in abuse in Christian contexts, but its services are otherwise open to everyone. At ADAM, you will meet staff, both women and men, with relevant professional backgrounds and experience.
The services provided include discussions over the phone, individual discussions, groups and other activities, as well as advice and information linked to issues relating to sexual assault. The staff speak Norwegian. Help is also available in English and an interpreter can also be provided if necessary.
